Look into an LED bulb. That may create less of a heat problem.

The LED replacement bulb from Fuel Moto has a fan built right into the back of it. And its a direct plug-and-play.

There are a lot of "bright bulbs" on the market, what did you get?

Your high beam indicator light comes on if there is no power to the low beam. Since you melted the connector and there is no low beam, the system will turn on that indicator.

Kind of a Bass-Akwards setup since it's not really a high beam indicator, more like a No-Low beam indicator.

Figured this out after installing my passing lamps and set it up where I can turn off the headlight too.

i.e. -
1) No headlight, no passing lamps (high beam ind on all the time)
2) Headlight and no passing lamps (high beam ind normal operation)
3) Headlight and passing lamps (high beam ind normal operation)
