Because I no longer want to stop riding because of where I live. I bought two bottles of this stuff called scottoiler fs365. Already applied 2 Coats. I'll keep you guys posted. Let's keep them them wheels rolling?https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_Yx5R3XgQL8
IMO, the best winter corrosion preventative ... park the bike in a nice warm dry place, the living room or den !
That way you can look at it while you're watching football in the winter !
I did just that when I lived in a mobile home in 1993. Had to dis-assemble my 1984 FLH to get it in thru the 32" door ! Bars off, bags off, like everything and then slide it in sideways with some help. Then spring we had to reverse the whole process ! Everything worked out in the end tho.
Really... PLEASE, best solution is move to Florida drive all year if you like, rain, shine, cold, too hot( lol ), not so hot, breezy, hurricanes just drive.
I used to live there. Moved to Chicago to go back to school. Was supposed to move back to FL but have been stuck up here since 1982. I sure miss it from Oct thru April.
Good luck.
My question is are you applying it under the fenders? The underside of the frame?
Every nook, crany and crevice where the old nasty road mist is going to deposit the salt?
Love riding. But not at the cost of my bike suffering an early death from road salt rot. :nah
Yes yes and yes. here is a product that adheres longer and good for undersides I suppose. Again to the peeps that want to keep them wheels rolling for Those that don't see ya in 4 months ?
Simply overlooking the inevitable road salt rot, I cannot fathom crossing over a spot of black ice at 50-65 mph on a 2 wheeled vehicle. Good luck with that!
Living in NY where I get lake effect blizzards off of Lake Ontario quite often, I'll keep in in the garage, winterized till the snow is gone and salt off the road. Keeps the parts on the bike that way.
Suit yourself. But think you will get awful lonely waiting around for replies.
Other then from Members South and West.
And do not think they have any interest in salt protection.
:dunno
Yes the salt air year round if close to the beach is as bad as winter up north on the chrome and paint, nuts and bolts, ect. but.... we do get to ride year round.
