i adjusted the apes:nod a few inches forward to get the wanted riding position. I think I missed the mark as i still have a little more fine tuning needed to get my arms just right.
then rode 16 miles to work, a bit cool but the air was very clean and fresh.
Did my first oil change on my Ultra ever. I had always taken it in to the shop before but figured I'd save myself some money. Wasn't too bad except the oil catcher that I bought from the dealer didn't do crap.
I rode 10 minutes to warm the bike up before I drained the oil, then 10 minutes after the oil change. 31 degrees on the first ride, 29 degrees on the second. Since it was just going to be a quick ride I didn't bundle up much. Wow, was it cold! I just rode with tennis shoes and air was blowing up my leg. I didn't realize ballz could get that cold

Got my adjustable highway peg mounts and rear brake pads today. I'll have to free up some time to install. Got a Ride Like a Pro course on Saturday. Supposed to be raining and thunder storming. I'll be there if it still makes.
Chief, yeah, it was an even better feeling when I looked under the bike today and there were no oil leaks! I did have to guess on the torque for the oil drain plug though. I need to get a torque wrench but I haven't found a good one yet that handles the torque numbers I need.

I was quite :cussing with my oil catcher when I found I had the same mess and something else in the way !!
I did find a trick afterwards that helps some. Get your catch pan in place and take a nail and punch a hole in the filter at 12 Oclock , break it loose stopping the hole at 6 Oclock , punch another hole at 12 , let it drain. It's not perfect but it helps.

I just roll like I do when I have sex. I just leave a mess and let a woman clean it up. Surprised I don't have any bastard children...that I know of. :what:

Road to work today. A bit breezy and chilly. Gusts up to 20 and mid 30s. With the normal Houston humidity, it felt colder. They say it is a 8 degree minus for the wind chill. I believe it. If this happens often here in Houston, I will definitely need some better gloves. The fingers were like popsicles.
Plugged the battery tender in, seeing as its 21* f'in degrees here and *n*w flurries predicted all week and apparently WV decided to use half the salt they have on the rds over night....
I doubt if you racked up over a 100K by riding only in perfect conditions!
:thumbsup
