Dave, I need some help. I took my Ultra to a car and bike show this weekend and while my wife and I were out looking at cars, someone had come by my bike and snapped off one of my antennas right at the box. I was so mad, I couldn't see straight. After my wife calmed me down, i found the antenna laying by my rear tire. My question is, I know the trunk is designed to come off but how do I replace my antenna. I have a shop manual but haven't had time to see how it's done.
I'm thinking there has to be some sort of quick -disconnect. Will I have to replace the back half antenna assembly or can I just drill out the stud, use an easy out and replace the stud? I'll still have to drill out the broken stud in the bottom of my antenna, or buy a new set....Dam I';m mad. Probably some little kid did it but no one owned up to it and of course, people around didn't see a thing. Thanks for any ideas... Daniel

I found the issue. I just needed to have my glasses on BEFORE I started working so I could pick the right bolts. Soprry to have bugged you.

    oops: Your post was this:

    2000-2005 Roadking brake service
Did some research and some repairs, and discovered an issue with Roadking, but only in the 2000-2005 range, and ONLY with dual caliper/rotor brakes. These are the 4 piston calipers.

The issue is after awhile, the brake lever for the front starts to feel muchy and grabs lower then it should, regardless of fluid conditon and how much you bleed.

    Here's the solution:

    Dave,
Sorry if I am posting in the wrong areas. I am new to this (and new on working on the bike). I have a 2004 RK Custom and was reading your post. The issue I have is as I tried removing the caliper there are 3 bolts. 2 remove fine, when I go to remove the 3rd one (on the fork) brake fluid leaks out (fast!). How can I remove the caliper without losing all the brake fluid? What am I doing wrong.

Thank you for your postings and your help.

    Hi Dave,
I have a 95FXD as you had. I did the primary chain auto adjuster upgrade today and I have a question. When I fitted the auto adjuster I have it all the way to the bottom and I have only 1/2" play in the chain. When I removed the locking tab from the adjuster it moved one even one click. It is a new chain. Will I get away with this until it wears in a bit?
Thank you so much for being there for a new to HD's
    cheers,
    John

Add preload spacers (1" on each side) ) or replace springs with higher spring rate to prevent bottoming.

thanks dave for responding to my qeastion on the 85 wheel seal. The local parts stores don't have the resources to help you out. I've be in manufacturing and machine building for over 25 years. So I know their are alternatives to repairs and cost's and replacement parts. Thanks Dave again

Baffle removal will change the a/f ratio, due to slowed exhaust velocity. Remapping and adding more fuel will be necessary, due to creating a lean issue, which creates higher engine heat and can cause damage. You'll also likely feel a loss in bottom end torque as well.

    Hey Dave
I have a quick question for you.
When changing a clutch cable is it necessary to adjust the clutch itself as well or just the new cable ?

    Thanks DYNA07
