As for performance upgrades, there are lots of great threads on this site that will help you way more than I ever could with that. A quick list though, would be pipes, air cleaners, tuner, plugs and wires, cams etc. You really can do ALOT for low cost if you are willing to do your own work. There is all the help you can ever hope for on this site with Dave63, Schmidtys and others that have great advice, expertise and experience.
Ride free and enjoy your Wide Glide! I've had others in over 35 years of street riding but this bike gives me everything I want! WGs are light, handle well in the corners, are really smooth at speed (80 and up) on the super slab and don't feel like a rolling couch with all those heavy bags, full fairings etc. Just never been my style personally. I have done 650+ mile days on the WG and not much problem at all. Even with the stock seat!
