'05 Dyna w/ lots of mods, but don't really care for the exposed spring on rear shocks. Understand Progressive offers a set w/chrome coverand supposedly provide better ride/handling. Other than the appearance do those with these shocks feel they are a good value??? All feedback apprecicated.

Especially on your bike the ride will be better even then a lot of the other guys on here. When you accelerate all that power goes to the back tire and sinks the rear end of the bike. On a stock engine no big deal. It when your rocking 50+ more torque that rear end sinks more then it should on acceleration. This causes a lot of weight shifting forward and back when shifting. The progressive spring will keep the bike more steady, and allow you to utilize the power more safely for the street. On a drag strip you probably want the rear to sink more, but not for the street. Its all, about keeping the chassis as level as possible when accelerating and braking. That is the name of the game in handling, as well as safety. It will of course also ride more comfortable over bumps as the spring rate is softer at first to absorb small bumps better and harder later on to absorb big bumps without bottoming out.

I've been reading too much of A Twist Of The Wrist hehehe
