at 68 walking beside the harley while running it up onto the hf lift was just too risky. i do my own service and maint on the bike and am tired of crawling around on ground and getting up and down a lot. so i thought i would change it a little so i could easily ride the ultra on and off the lift. chalk that comes with is junk. i bought a hf wheel chock and put it on and fashioned an anti tipping device, extended the pedals to accomodate some outriggers. welded on 16 brackets to bolt the 1x12 lumber outriggers to.(had the tubbing and cold roll on scrap rack,no cost) 50 bucks for wheel chock and 40 for lumber. cant park it under my chevy pick up anymore but i can actually use it all the time. woohoo.
Nice work! I have one of these and use it for dirtbikes. How sketchy is putting one of these big bikes on there stock? Ive always wondered if a dirtbike would fall over when I am pulling the engine, I never wanted to push it side to side too hard.
I did mine with 3/4" conduit clamped to 2x12's sliding into 1" conduit clamped to the underside of the lift. Not heavy duty at all, but a quick and easy place to put my feet when I ride on and off the lift.
