Don't know where to have it done but I had mine taken out and through it away because I was tired of my ass burning in the summer. You need to cover the seat when parked outside anyway that is my experience!
Does anyone use the strap on gel pads or air hawks? I've never used them but have seen them on several bikes - the owners weren't around or I would have got some feedback!
I used the strap once the first ride I had my airhawk. My friends laughed. I never used it again.
It isn't going to fall off. All the way from South Arkansas to Sturgis and back it was never an issue. And on the way back there were several times I could barely drag my leg off the bike and it still didn't fall off.
We used the straps the first time out. Took them off when we got to the beach, and stowed the air hawk pads. That was the last time we bothered with straps.
I have the gel pad that is held on by a strap with Velcro for my wife. She likes it much better than the stock heritage rear seat.
