I recently installed a stage 1 on my 2017 EG Limited. I went with V&H headers and slip ons(4 1/2" destroyers), SE intake, Pro Street tuner. I started noticing rust coming out of the end of the right muff where the tip is installed. I pulled out the baffle and was shocked at the amount of rust I found on the inside of the muff housing. I only have around 300 miles on the stage 1 mod. I contacted HD dealer who contacted V&H and they said it is normal until the muff "carbonizes". I never had this issue with my Rineharts or the factory muffs. I have posted a couple of pics in the gallery. Has anyone else experienced this with V&H?
my Eliminators are doing it, right side only but don't do it all the time. They have about 1,200 miles on them right now. Rust looks like a fine powder.
Its the inside of the muffler, not the baffle. There is rust all over the outside of the fiberglass on the baffle. The entire inside of the muff has rust.
