she's in love
first time I got enough nerve to do this.........
yesterday, I was getting ready to put up my bikes after cleanin them up, and of course, the kids wanted to go for a putt. pretty common around here, so I took the too littlest ones for a ride (one at a time obviously) then I got my oldest boy on the fatboy, cept I rode in bitch position. his first time actually doing the drivin. within 3 minutes, he was clutchin, shiftin and all on his own. I still had to help him take off as he was killin it, and I had to keep my feet down at a stop, but the boy did good. I figured he would be psyched, but he acted like, yeah, it was fun, no big deal. (his enthusiasm kills me)
so then I take sis (13 year old) for a ride, same proceedure. I do the clutchin, but she did the shifting, and in no time was throttleing unassisted. that's right, my 13 year old got to take me fore a bike ride. when we got home, she went in the house (excited as could be) and told her mom, she wants her own motorcycle now.
Damn, I wish I coulda bought lil bro's 883, been perfect for the two to learn on. now I'm kinda eyeballing my step-moms bike, she's thinking of getting rid of it, Suzuki 650 single.....I know, I know, jap bike, but hey, it is small, sits low and would be a good learner.
So, anyone else have any stories of their first times letting their younguns ride?
