1996 S2t
Had me a Buell for 9 years. Orange on one side, black on the other with a white stripe down the middle. I liked it alot and had about 26,000 miles on it when I got rid of it. I had 2 other bikes at the same time, hence the low miles. Quirky machine in that it always had little problems with it. Kick stand wasn't quite right, too far forward. Blew oil out of the rocker box gasket sometimes. And at the end a mysterious manifold leak. She's gone now, don't miss her but cherish the memories in the twisties. I will always like me a Buell. They were so new whn they came outr hen I was able to get BUELL for my license plate too.

A well handling bike sometimes gets the attention of a few of us, and although we love our cruisers, we miss the fun of screaming through corners, just a bit faster then everyone else.......

While I liked my Buell, this baby below handled really good too. Don't let a rigid with apes fool ya.....It is a 1963 Pan rigid pan, solo seat, luggage rack on a hinged rear fender, open primary w/3" belt and foot clutch/hand stick shift. Had her for 28 years. I am old and got rid of the Buell and the Pan and bought 2 used ultra's. The older technology and lack of creature comforts was getting to be a burden. I sold it to a younger friend in Arizona and who will keep the tradition alive.

I live in the mountains and going to work and coming back meant taking a 15 mile long winding country rode. That S2T ate up those corners like you said, and fast (70MPH). One time I came around a corner and was smack dap behind a state trooper after him seeing me pass 2-3 cars and a wood truck in a no passing zone and I knew as soon as he could he was gonna pull over and pull me over. So right in the middle of a curve there was a left turn onto a dirt road, which I took, did a U turn and took another way home. Score: 1 me - 0 LEO.
A problem I acquired as me and the Buell got older, the high rise of the rear of the Buell fuel tank didn't bode well for my growing beer belly. Bad combo. If you've ridden a Buell you know what I am talking about. By time I was 51-52 yo it was painfully obvious it was time to loose weight (quit drinking beer) or sell the Buell. Sold the Buell and the Pan and as I said bought 2 used Ultra's. It was a huge blast while it lasted. I use to ride it to Harley Rendezvous' and Laconia's with my hardcore harley friends and they busted my chops. I didn't care, that Buell was memorable ride.If I was rich I would have kept her.

I ride a '95 S2. Actually I'm only come to this forum mainly to talk about my dad's bike (custom '93 FXD) because I'm the main mechanic on the bike. I had a '03 1200 sport before the S2 and the difference is night and day. The XL1200S when I was done actually had about 10 more RWHP but with the wheelbase, weight, and suspension difference it was enough to make me fall in love with it. I'll keep my belly flat so I don't have to get rid of it. I'd rather own two Buells than 4 HDs.

Here's a pic of my old XL1200S. Inverted clubmans, White Bros 2-1, 883R seat. Man I miss that bike sometimes. It just looked super-classy cafe racer style.
Here's my S2 when I picked it up in Detroit last June.
And here's what she looks like now getting pulled her apart for summer mods (I don't care to ride in 100* heat).
