my f-in clutch won't release!!!!

I have a shovel on a rigid, made like frankenstien. 4 speed with a dry primary. I just had the final drive belt replaced and rode it home.

So I go to to take off and the thing is in between gears or something. Then, while I'm trying to figure out how to get it in gear, the clutch lever goes slack. starter just whines and if i try to kick it the kick lever rolls the back tire, but the bike rolls free like it's in neutral.

I checked the arm, and it's just loose and floppy.

What happened and what do I do?

Sounds like the throw out bearing might have took a crap .

so....they didn't put the key-way back in when they put the clutch basket back on....the reason it wouldn't start is because the whole damn thing was just layin' inside the primary case.

fixed it in the parkin lot of Old Chicago in the dark last night with the help of a friend...

wonder what the guys at the shop were doin' that made em miss the key stock?
