Does anyone have a diagram for a single point distributor? Just got my pan started, but cant get above idle, when I try she spits and sputters backfires and dies. I am running a cv carb. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can't get it above idle would indicate no fuel. Check for a blocked pilot jet, or vacuum leak, as the CV works off vacuum. There's a vacuum port on the top, rear, that's for the VOES sensor, that you don't have. It needs to be blocked off.

If it idles, the points should be ok, or close enough that it runs. Timing is something else........

No problem with fuel. Timing seems to be ok. I was thinking maybe the weights are stuck in distributor. But I am new to panheads and dont want to screw up. Which I am naturally inclined to do. lol

If the weights won't move, then it will still run and drive, it just won;t have the power it's supposed to over 1500-1800 rpms, due to lack of auto-timing advance.

Even if the weights were stuck in place, the bike't timing can still be advanced enough to run it down the road, which is why fuel is a suspect here.
