pipes hit the ground especially right hand side!

I have shotgun pipes on my shovel and when i take a right turn and get into a corner the pipes hit the road! Any solutions anyone??? (apart from the obvious of putting the bike back to its standard height). I spin out because i can see that if i turn into a corner to tighly on either side i may go arse up! There apears to be more room on the left side and I have not hit the primary cover yet!
cheers
Julian

I ran a hardtail sporty for a lot of years. That use to happen to me. The bike was so low…
“How low was it?”
It was so low, it would scrape going over a cigarette pack...
Anyway, I took the front pipe (lowest one) and cut a 1/2" out between the first and second bend and welded it back together. No more scraping...

I had the same problem and thoughts with My 76 FLH,Found a set of Paugho pipes that went on like stock with one on each side without all the crossover contraptions and that solved that problem and they sounded real good too. Was`nt as cool as the two out on one side but if it comes down to dumping it in a corner or lookin cool?????
It was real neat though when doing a right hand corner in the night and sparks would fly.

My '84 FLH does that. I have cut the drag pipes down short which works, but I don't like them that short. I talked to a local muffler shop and he would have bent them to ride closer to the frame which is a good option. I like the idea from MrMarty, can you send the order info for those pipes? Thanks

Simple enough only do left hand turns. Might take awhile but you'll eventually get where you wanted to go.
