Panhead oil leak!
I have an old but taken care of 55' Panhead. The rear rocker cover keeps leaking oil from the rear part closest to the frame. I replaced the gaskets and D-ring. I checked to see if the cover itself was warped. Everything looks good. I am using the new rubber gaskets and not the old metal cored paper gaskets. It only leaks when it is warm. Any suggestions?

Head may be warped.
Is the oil baffle in the pan/lid? (glues to the underside top)
Are the pushrod tubes blocked at all slowing oil return?

Other things to check:
Check the engine crankcase vent. If it is clogged it will pressurize all sorts of things and "force" the oil out.
Check the oil screen on top of the cam cover. Take out the plug and you will find a small screen. It "filters" the tappet oil. Make sure it is clean.
What oil Viscosity are you using?
Also, despite having new "D"-rings, you need to take the rear pan (rocker cover) off and check to make sure it's not bent, from over tightening over the years. Even a new "D"-ring won't help that....
Despite ALL that..........has anyone had the cam out recently or messed with the crankcase vent timing gear?

Put the base of the rear pan on somthing flat like a glass window and you will see if its bent up.
All good points to check Dave ,I have noticed on the pans Ive owned that the head to frame clearance of the seat post is very important maker sure your engine mounts are tight and not loose from vibration main cause of head banging the frame.
