"79" Lowrider

My Bro that painted my Panhead rode a "64" Pan for quite a few yrs. A couple of yrs. ago in an attempt to try to save his marriage and financial hardship he sold his Pan an has been miserable ever since. Well, his Ol Lady just up and Broke Camp on him last week leaving him totally bummed out. Anyway, he calls me and says "Keep your eye out for a good used Harley, preferably a Pan or Shovel". Well it just so happened that I knew a guy with a running 79 Lowrider was selling it for $4,000.00. I tried to chew him down to &3,500.00 but he wouldn't budge .Really can't blame him.

Keep an eye on this one as these are the before pictures. The bike runs great. In about 2 weeks /i will post the after oics.

Rob

Yea, I told him he was now commited to many mile with me and the Pan. The two cast Iron 4 speeds should run in perfect sync with one another! I think he is very down with the task lol.

Thumbs up

Love them shovels. Any hints on the "after" that you are planning for it? ...

Nice move Rob, your Friends lucky to have a Bro like you. Not a bad price for the bike. Looking forward to the project. Get him in the wind as soon as possible.

He's already got it tore apart. I know he plans on Blacking a lot of stuff out similar to an early Sturgis and with his Painting ability it should be interesting. The story I got was that the Dude that sunk the coin in the motor and put the 3" belt on it watched his best friend get killed riding with him, parked the Lowrider and it sat for 8 yrs. Another friend of mine bought it and got frustrated with it. I went over there with my son and got it fired up (still had the 8 yr plugs in it) and it ran strong as hell. Took it out and went through every gear about 4 times. Came back and after negotiations I ended up laying down the 40 Ben Franklins.

One thing is for sure, no matter what he replaces, blacks out, or paints, its still gonna be set up like a "79" Lowrider.

I'm sure it will turn out badass. It's cool that he will keep it as a lowrider should be too. Here's a picture of my 84 shovel that I restored. I bought it new and rode the sh&t out of it.
