Primary cover

I want to remove my primary cover and check things out in there. Should I assume I will need to replace the gasket? My engine is making a rumbling, churning sound on that side. I have no idea if it's a normal engine sound or not.

You may not have to replace it if you remove the cover carefully and the gasket is in good condition.
