Rear Belt Pulley 68T for my 09 Iron
Hello all, attempting the RK shock/lowering kit install on my iron, but ran into one problem. The rear pulley that comes stock on the Japanese irons is different than the US, leaving me with a useless
upgrade here due to the fact that the lowering blocks on the drive side will rub the rear pulley. It's a flat deal, where as the US rear pulleys are concaved, leaving space for the lowering kit there in the center, hence I am looking for a US rear pulley to put on my bike.
I'll take any color scheme, as long as it will fit the 07~ fuel injected
sporty's. I think from 04~ is OK, but not sure. So if anyone out there has a rear 68T belt pulley for sale, I will take it off your hands in an heartbeat. Thanks a lot, Court B

I knew the European gearing was different, but not the actual configuration. Can you post a pic of your pulley?

Here you go Dave
Hey Dave, it's not the gearing itself, but just the actual pulley. It's a totally different pulley than the one that comes on the irons in the States. Or for that matter, all the sporty's over here in Japan come with this particular pulley. It has a bowl/compensator with a rubber isolator on the inside, and the pulley and a spacer fit over that. Funny and stupid if you ask me, but they all have it. Needless to say, there's no putting this Tamarack lowering kit on my bike with this stupid pulley, so I really want to get my hands on a 68Tooth normal pulley from the US. Any leads? Thanks a lot buddy and have a good one.

i agree on the wheel as well.
i saw one of these a month or so ago, and the entire rear drive hub and wheel assy. are different...
these are the isolator hubs designed to reduce high speed gear chatter......and they are an odd duck.....like me...

There's that possibility.
Normally, you see these installed on 08 and up HD Touring bikes. Of course, Japanese bikes have used isolators forever on their bikes. I just find it odd that bikes sent to Japan, or at lest this one, has this.
I've seen the divice before and it's testing in a review on a magazine.

HD sells it as an option and if you read the listing, it specifies which wheels it WON'T fit. HD of USA doesn't even list it for Sportsters.......

On the comp. pulley the bearing is in the pulley rather than in the wheel . Can't remember if the HDI wheel is machined for a bearing .

thanks guys for the replies. Looks like the wheel is the same as the Stateside one as far as I can tell(& the guys over here at the HD shop), so seems like if I get my hands on the 68t pulley from someone over there, then order the other small hardware that's necessary over here, I should be able to make it fly. If not, I'll be pissed, as I have these RK shocks and lowering kit that I've already picked up and will not be able to use. I really want one of these pulleys, so if you know someone that's looking to get rid of one, send'em my way. This is my main winter project. thanks a lot fellas.

If it's machined for the bearing you can most likely make it fit . I've got a couple drive pulleys at my shed so I'll take a look when I get over there and let ya know .
