For any CARBED HD with cruise, you need a carb that was made to accept cruise. The difference is: where the cruise mounts to the carb, is on the butterfly shaft that runs through the carb. The cruise cable attaches to a special arm that BOLTS to the shaft.
All other Keihin carbs are peened on that end, and attaching the arm isn't possible, unless you grind peened portion of the shaft off, and swap the internals (shaft and butterfly) from your carb to the new carb.

Correct. However, I believe you can get a regular CV carb and swap your shaft over into it. This allows you to use any 40mm Keihen CV carb for your bike if you canibilize your existing carb to build it.
The reason I say this is because the number of available used "cruise carbs" out there are slim to none, compared to regular carbs.

I wouldn't sweat it Dix. Carb kits are around for other carbs that have long been out of production. Keihin's original carb for HD's still has kits available, and they were last made in the late 80's.
Yer good. If not, I got a kit in by stash if you need it.

Yes, however, not cruise capable from the factory. You also need S&S throttle cables with their carbs. Better performance but fuel mileage drop will hurt on a cruiser.
