Tins repair and piant,so easy a caveman can do it!!

Today is the day If finished a Project Ive Been doin for a customer/Freind. I havent posted a tech in a while so Is time for me to stop running my mouth in the threads and So you folks What Choppa Madness is all about.
So grab a Beer some munchies and read away.for you folks that need Brail I only have one bump if you want to feel it well thats another thread...lol
This bike will be on the JJ and in JJ friday art thread as well.
Lets start off with some old choppa tins repair some dents and hammer a edge in the fender.

Today subject is a old wassel tank fitted with a old honda 750 gas cap has a few small dents so lets pull em out with the studwelder/slide hammer.



A little bangin on tha fender and bust out the welder.



So we pulled the dent with the stud/welder and pulled the stud right of the tank with my manly arms of steel and made a hole FUK!...No sweat Im not no pussy lets weld the gas tank hole.this tank is so old it has no gas smell to it and just to be safe I flushed it with soapy water and dryed it.now weld the hole up nice big snot...lol



Now hand file the weld down, NO grinder to much heat will pull the dent back.



a little 80 grit da sanding on both pieces



Now for a little Mozzerella/Bondo and some more 80grit sanding followed by a skim coat of bondo and 220grit final sanding





now for some Dupont primer/sealer





followed by some 400grit sanding of the primer and time for or undercoat of Metallic silver dupount paint 3 coats and dry overnight

Now that we are dry we can tape it up for some Groovy 70s style stripeing.All hand done no stencils done from my window lickin mind.And cause he is a kool cat and freind of mine we will throw in a surprise Hellmet to match his tins for even more Choppa Madness







Now we spray out top coat of color which is this groovy mini cooper Orange metallic.




finish time get ready!! now 8 coats of clear later

Now that it has smoothed out dryin over night we wet sand it with 2000 grit wetsand paper and the buff the crap outta it with a compound followed by a final polish buff no wax till 3 weeks later.
