My riding buddy nailed a deer doing 70 (I was about 100 yards behind him) and the deer's head hit the engine guard and bent it back to his leg but he stayed rubber side down. Wish I had a video camera but you all know how that goes. It was over in a few seconds.

funny you bring that up, a good buddy of mine hit a deer last week on an ultra. deers head hit the lower fairing, body slung around and bruised the hell outa his girlfrinds leg. he kept it up right, killed the deer. Another of our friends was right behind him on a sportster, you should see the blackmark on the road where he locked up the rear brake and slid right around the deer in the road, missed it by about 4 inches

Can someone explain why engine guards are gay? I bought my bike with a guard already installed....am I missing something here?
