Apes on a 95...
Okay guys,
I have a 1995 Wide Glide. This is before they started counter balancing engines, so there is quite a bit of vibe already going to the bars. I want to get a set of 16" apes, even though I commute on it for an hour and a half everyday, I think the look outways the threat of my arms falling asleep as the blood slowly drains out of them...
I was wondering if there were other "old school" guys out there that have had apes on a bike without the counter balanced engine, and did it rattle your hands a ridiculous amount while at idle...
Any advice would be great. Thanks, and Semper Fi!

My Dyna dances all over the place at idle. Once I ride it smooths out quite a bit at speed. I have 18" apes with a 1" riser and I don't have any trouble......

I'm looking forward to the switch. I found a few "kits" on line with everything pre-wired. It looks like the way to go, since I really don't want to play the "guess how long THAT cable needs to be" game.
Thanks for all the insight, and I look forward to seeing you guys on the road!
By the way, needing to get another rear fender. Anyone know how hard those are to change out?

Wiring is one piece, and unhooks under the seat. There's a plug. Turnsignals unhool as well. A few bolts later and wa-la. Hopefully it's close to being virgin, and not all mis-matched with hardware.

Dave, you know I'm Old School! I don't run turn signals...
As far as the bars, they seems to be unmolested so far...
So I'm assuming that it'll be relatively straight forward, but still may take a day or two. You know....between beers....
