Lowering Kit or Shocks????
Hey everyone, I want to lower my 2010 Super Glide Custom anywhere from 1-2". question--Lowering brackets for existing shocks or new shocks(dudes, shocks are expensive huh?). Any help would greatly be appreciated. I stand 5'5" and my heels are roughly 1-1 1/2" off the ground and it's a reak be-atchh to back up the bike on a slight incline. Thanks everyone

I say shocks. I'm looking into it myself, but the brackets tend to allow you to bottom out. The shocks are progressive enough not to let that happen, in most cases. It also depends if you are carrying anyone on the back, or ever plan on it.
As soon as the personal revenue kicks in, I plan on going with shocks/springs...

Shocks. Keeps the proper shock angle for best performance.

I have a pair of Progressive 412 series shocks I would part with for the right offer.

Hey there.
I also had the same problems you are having. My solutions were as follows.
1. Rear shock relocation blocks. Lowers rear of bike approx. 1 inch. It also gives the bike a raked look. I do not have any issues with bottoming out however I always ride solo. As for ride quality I don't have any issues with the shock angle. I feel that you would have to be a professional rider to even notice any difference between the blocks and the shorter shock absorbers. So if money is an issue go with the blocks and if you can afford the shorter shock the go that route. I spent $90.00 for my shock relocation kit and installed it my self with the help of a friend to support the bike while on the bike jack.
2. Harley Bad lander seat. Originally purchased the reach seat but it crushed the family jewels into the gas tank not to mention it was very uncomfortable on the back side. Bad lander seat has better rider position and is lower to the ground. You will sacrifice some comfort due to the lack of cushion. I bought my Bad lander seat on ebay for $125.00 plus shipping.
The bike is alot more controlable and comfortable to ride. I have a more secure feeling while being on the bike and while at a stop. I am happy with the bike the way it is now but I may consider installing the fork spings that lower the front down 1 inch. I still have some issues on loose gravel and backing up on an incline but its alot better than it was.
