Some great info so far guys - thanks.

HD2000 - My first consideration was the Sportster for a few reasons. Firstly I've always had a soft spot for them, and knew that if I ever went the Harley route in my riding life then it would always start with a Sporty.

Secondly, the Sportster being a smallish (not that small compared to the majority of rice rockets tho') will suit my size better. Both the missus and me are quite short - I'm 5'6" she's about 5'. I've come from a Honda sports tourer bike which was getting difficult for me to handle because I've developed an arthritic thing which is getting worse. This makes riding bikes where the rider is pitched forward too painful on my joints to ride any distance - hence the change to a Harley. The weight of the bike I get to replace the Honda is also a major consideration and the Dyna does feel considerably heavier than the Sporty.

Hello,
Where is this community section for introduction? I am new at this Forum. Have a 2005 Sportster Custom. Done some 500+ mile days with the pillow look seat by Harley. Being in my 60's, retiring soon and planning on riding more. I have lots of questions about the Dyna. I am interested in the Dyna Custom. Will probably use another pillow look seat. I am 5'7" and want to keep the seat hight down.
Does the Dyna have a charging system that will handle auxiliary lighting and heated clothes? My Sportster won't handle the extra power needs. Is the center of gravity really lower on the Dyna?
Have more questions but will wait.
Thank You All,
Bob:
