The WG tends (New model this year) to be more chopperesque with a longer wheelbase, higher bars, etc. while the SG is less so.

WG has forward controls, 10.5" apes, and a wider front end that is raked out a bit. SG have a narrower front end, not as raked, and comes with mid-controls. It totally depends on your taste, and the riding position that you most prefer. I have a 1995 DWG, and love sitting back, but need taller bars. I did see a SG that I wanted so bad I could taste it, but the wife said "absolutely not!". I have a feeling it was because I had just gotten the Wide Glide a few weeks before that...
