Arlen Ness Shock Lowering Brackets
Hello,
Has anyone used these brackets? I will eventually buy some progressive 11.5 418's, but meanwhile i was wonder how the Arlen Ness lowering brackets are.
They apparently lower the shocks 1 inch by moving the lower bracket back.
Whats good or bad about them?
THanks

What is the difference between the 412 progressives and the 418's? (Besides a couple hundred bucks) Also, I cannot find 11" shocks, I can only find 11.5" Is this just a technicality or are there actually 11" 418's out there?

I'm looking to lower mine as well, and I know that shocks are the way to go, but need to get the wife her bike before I get anything like that done. The 1995 has fairly soft suspension, and it might just be the age of them, but getting out of the driveway with her on back, or even loaded down saddle bags it tends to bottom out.

I wouldn't purchase anything from Arlan Ness! If you purchase lowering blocks from L.A. Choppers they will lower the Dyna 1 1/2" Best bet is to save your money and buy shorter shocks. Progressive 412s do come in 11" eye to eye. You can go to their web site and get the exact part number then shop it.

All the bracket kits will just compress shocks=harder ride....Aftermarket & HD..Best bets just going right to the Progressives, why waste the $100 on a bracket..when a few hundred more gets the whole deal

you will notice a harder ride due to the angle of the shocks. Not the best choice if you are like me with an extremely bad back.

thanks for the info
Thanks for the info on the lowering blocks. will wait for money on progressive 418's instead.
some asked the difference between the 412 and 418. One, they look different. I like the look of the 418's better, also they have a hex hole to adjust your reload. I had these on my 03 FXD and i loved them. So I will buy them again. No experience with the 512, but they look to much like stock shocks to me. I may be wrong , but i don't think they come in 11.5 ". I only want to lower my bike a inch , so going with the 418's...

I put lowering kit on my Dyna SG and I dont feel any real difference in the ride. It's not the Arleness one, but so far so good.
