It came, I rode, It Conquered!

The Dyna arrived today - full marks to Harleyworld in Chesterfield here in the UK. They did a pretty spectacular job of turning the bike out looking superb and with all the jobs I requested having been done - plus a few more!

Obviously as soon as the delivery driver left I was kitted up and off out for a test ride................

"Interesting" I think is the best way to describe it. Like nothing else I've ever ridden before. It doesn't handle at all, every corner and bend is an adventure - and some a lottery whether you'll actually make it out the other side alive!

The suspension's bloody awful, the brakes are non-existent and it vibrates like a rampant rabbit on acid........ but there's something about it that's kinda nice! It's good fun and very relaxing to ride - just got to remember it's not a modern sports bike.

It's got a tremendous amount of torque (like I'm telling you guys this - duh!) and a wicked vibe sets in at around 3000 rpm so you have to avoid that at all costs - if you want to keep the fillings in your teeth. I think we're gonna get along just fine - I like it........a lot! Can't wait to get it "run in".

Congrats on the delivery. I'm sitting here smiling thinking about the first time I rode a Harley. Life Altering to say the least. Amazing, and NOW you understand why we feel the way we feel. I'm glad that we helped you research your choice, and I'm glad that you like it. Congrats again, and keep the rubber side down, and your knees in the breeze!

Oh, that's getting fixed soon - don't worry. I'm off out there now to make a new bracket to hold the hideous thing. Then I'm going to order a slightly smaller new number plate. Like I said in a previous thread - we Brits must have the ugliest plates inthe world

I know about those plates, I was following your othe thread and just had to give you a hard time about it. On the other hand, you do have a nice bike. I hope you enjoy it. I agree with your assesment and I have to say that even though my Dyna does not handle like anywhere near what a sports bike will do. It is allot better than the 2 previous Harley's that I have had. Both where Fat Boys. As a matter of fact when I bought this one I had intentions to resell it because I got a great deal on it but after a few days on it the other bike, my Suzuki, is now for sale. And I loved that bike.
