Replacement Low Rider Seat

I am looking for a replacement seat for my 09 Low Rider. Presently I am using the HD Reach Seat. It brings you 1" closer to the controls. I have 1400 miles on the bike. I have a sore rear after each of my rides. I am looking for a low profile two (1 piece) replacement seat. I already lowered the bike with Progressive shocks. I am 5'5" with a 29inch inseam. I appreciate any advice.

Well 1400 miles your butt aint broke in yet. Are you looking for a 2up seat
cause you got a passenger or what? Any low profile probably isnt gonna help that much.

Shop Mustang Seats : Mustang Motorcycle Products, Inc., What a Difference Comfort Makes! I've got the Vintage on mine and it's about as comfortable as you can get.

or Danny Gray.

Smile seats

You opened a big can of worms with this one. Seems like every owner has personal stories about seats, whats best, what suks etc. I have a pretty low mileage dyna and i still love the stock seat. i like how it pushes my weight into the back of the seat when i accelerate and the width of the seat gives good weight distribution. i hate the bikes that make you sit on your front end leaning forward, i find that very unconfortable.? So what is your real problem? do you sit pretty upright or lean forward or back? if you find yourself reaching for the controls, maybe a change of risers is indicated, not the seat. risers can bring the controls to YOU, not you to them... my two cents.

Let us know what works out for you.

Replacement Low Rider Seat

My other bike uses a seat made by The Ultimate Seats. Their low rider seat brings you an inch forward and 1 inch lower. I can ride for miles and miles without discomfort. As advertised my butt felt like it went to heaven. (LOL) Unfortunately they do not make a seat for the Dyna. On that particular bike I also have 6” inch pull back risers. As far as I know you cannot purchase pullback risers for the Low Rider other than the ones that come with it. As stated previously my rear gets sore. It may be due to the lack of padding and/or design. The people I know who purchased after market seats were due to comfort in which the stock seat cannot provide. Yes I am looking for a two up seat. I appreciate everyone's two cents. Hopefully someone will respond to this thread who had a similar situation and resolved it.

I recently traded my sportsted for a dyna low rider 2005, 2 weeks after getting the bike we rode from NJ to sturgis, 12 hours a day for 4 days on the stock 2 up seat was extremely painful after just a few hours of driving every day, felt like my tail bone was hitting the seat pan. as soon as we got to sturgis I went to the Mustang factory trailer, and purchased their 2 up seat, unbelievable difference, the seat pan is steel not plastic like the stock seat, and the foam is very supportive, I have put 9000 miles on the bike since and rode the 2000 miles back home without any pain!!!!!, I am very happy with their seat, hope this helps.

Great story lowrider05!!! We love to hear about testimonials like yours.

techteacher: I would suggest trying to get to a major bike Rally. Our Mustang Rig will be at Biketoberfest in Daytona and the Lone Star Rally in Galveston, TX. At the Mustang Rig, our factory trained reps will let you try on all the options we have available on your own Dyna. If you find a seat you like and purchase it, we'll ship your old seat home for free.

Just curious, are you saying no one makes them cause HD has 6" curved risers or is it because the cables are too short or something? Either way, if you think sitting more up right will help the old rump out, consider different bars on the stock risers. I put 4" inch pull back risers from HD on my Super Glide and it improved the ride position a lot. The SG has different bars than the LR. The different ride position also helped a little with my vertically challanged problems (5'6") since I don't lean forward for the bars aslong with lowering it in the rear an inch.
Like I said, not sure it will help with butt soreness.

i have a 98 lowrider and i put the bars of a softail standard on mine ... had to reroute the cables but used stock stuff it raised my hands about 6 or 7 inches and moved them back towards me. it is much more comfortable for me now.
