Sounds like you might have a exhaust leak on your pipes. You need to check all your fittings to make sure nothing got loose when you wrapped them.

Ya , if you had 'em off to wrap 'em you shoulda used new gaskets to reinstall 'em ... sounds like you got a leak at the exhaust port flange .

Be warned: Thin walled, mild steel pipes will crack in about 2 year or so, when wrapped. A down side not often discussed by custom builders, because although it looks cool, and insulates from radiant heat, that's about all it does.

it does a little bit more then just look good. is done change the flow of the exhaust. so more exhaust out the popping was fixed buy getting a se heave breather and letting my boys at hd put it the se computer and dyno tuneing it poping gone and looks and runs great. spent a little more money then i wanted to but worth it in the end.

Absolute Bull facken sheit, no matter what crap that HD dealer handed you.

Reprogramming stopped the popping, (adding fuel) not the header wrap.

Let's not get it twisted....

You show me a before and after Dyno run with non-wrapped pipes and then the wrapped pipes, showing a difference in horsepower. The best you'll see is a mild improvement (mild is giving it more credit then needed) in scavenging due to heat insulation and exhaust exiting, however, even on the most race prepped bikes, it's not seen via dyno testing, rather just a slice in the performance pie.

I ran a Honda RC51 in CCS, 137-140hp, Dynoed before and after header wrapping, with NO noticable difference other then heat off my legs during yellow flag laps. (1000cc v-twin, EFI, twin cam)

The most difference you'll see is cracked, low carbon, mild steel pipes in 1-2 years for your efforts.

Pedal that crap somewhere else. It looks nice, but lets not make it more then it really is, skippy. It's purely header wrapped bling for the HD poser wanna-be's that believe that it actually enhances performance.

A Pine tree air-freshener from the handlebars will give you more performance.

I'm guessing that Dave is not a fan of wrapped pipes.
