Wide Glide "Sport" windshield

When I got my 02 wide glide it had the HD "Sport" windshield on it. I thought it looked decent, not too obtrusive and had decent lines for the look of the bike but wasn't really necessary since it's rather small. I purchased a larger detachable windshield on eBay to use on longer trips and in the colder weather but I have to get the mounting hardware from the local dealer so I took this windshield off last night.

I know they say that size doesn't matter but I was really surprised when I rode to work this morning without a windshield. It was chilly this morning but nothing like the last couple of mornings and I was freezing my nuts off. I was getting blasted by traffic on the freeway and kept thinking this small piece of plastic really did a lot more than I thought it did.

I normally like to ride without a windshield when I can and really only thought I'd use one on longer trips but I'm rethinking that.

I also put the new windshield and the old windshield on the floor next to each other and guess what....nothing happened. They must not be gay

I'm going to list the sport in the classified later today in case anyone is interested.

Same thing happens when you place engine guards next to each other, nothing.

I remember from reading the forum before that this is a standard HERD test to see if something will be "gay" if you put it on your bike

See, I did learn something by reading what everyone else says.

I hear ya Geouhl. I have a small winshield on my Dyna and I'm waiting on the brackets to mount my Memphis shades fat that I got to replace it. Can't wait to get the bigger windshield on there. Especially when you have days like today when the wind is blowing 30mph. My buddy was giving me crap about it, but I told him I quit worrying about looking cool after I got married. As far as being gay......I suppose it is possible that I may be a lesbian.

It would be helpful if you could provide a link to the listing for that windshield... I am also interested to know if it will fit my 2010 FXDWG Wide Glide. If you like, you can PM me the info and asking price... maybe we can work out a deal? THANKS!

I'd be happy to but it's been one of those days. I think the HD part number is 91820-85A for the sport windshield and if that's it, it only fits up to an '05 so it probably won't work on your 2010. Not sure what I'll ask for it but probably $75. I'll get it listed tomorrow sometime.

My sport windshield rarely gets taken off my bike. I kills a lotta bugs and we all know bugs are made of glue.

OK, so I have my new windshield on and went for a ride the other day when it wasn't raining. It's the HD standard height detachable windshield and I like it, I think. When I've ridden in the past I never had a windshield except for this sport windshield. It looks like the one Dixie has on his bike.

When I sit my butt down the top of the windshield is right at eye level so I either need to scrunch down and look through it (or lean back a little which is what I ended up doing) or sit up taller and look over it. I assume there is no right / wrong way to do it but it's odd being right at that level.

What does everyone else do who has a windshield, look over it or look through it?
