Help/Suggestions Needed

Found out yesterday my Dyna Super Glide Custom that has just under 1,000 miles needs to have part of the motor rebuilt. Took bike in for 1,000 mile inspection and to have them look at an oil leak I noticed but couldn't see where it was coming from. Dealer says there is a pin hole in the case which is rare and had to be a bad cast at the factory. My 2yr warranty is up in June and the dealer is not going to warranty their work. Has anyone had this problem with their Dyna and or have suggestions on how to get them to extend my warranty?

The bike has UNDER 1000 miles, and is WHAT YEAR?

In your words, the Dealer has admitted to a manufacture's defect.

Is it under warranty right now? You stated My 2 yr warranty is UP IN JUNE, or did you mean, it WAS up in June of 2009? I read that as you STILL have a warranty. No need to extend anything....

Simple answer.....either there's more to this story, or you need to stop wasting time on the internet whining about it, (I mean that in the nicest way .) and find an Attorney.

Defect.

Warranty.

Fix.

No cost to you.

Can't make it any clearer.

Your Warranty is a contractual agreement. You do this. ...they do that. In all reality, you paid for it as well.

One letter from an Attorney to your dealer, (Or another dealer that's willing to do their job) and your problem and subsequent oil leak will go away.

You can always pull your paperwork and contact a District Dealer Rep and chat it up with him/her, but that may or may not yield anything either.

If your warranty WAS UP IN 2009, then you are more then likely gonna have to foot that bill, if you waited until NOW to take it in for repair.

A pin hole in the case means ... the engine comes outta the bike , gets completely taken apart and reassembled with a new case half and all new gaskets plus new bearings in the case half . A major repair to say the least ! Personally I would try HD customer service for a new engine . If they end up rebuilding the thing at the dealership then request a specific mech. to do the work on it , a mech. you've heard good things about and that has a bunch of patches on his / her shirt sleeve .
