Big depression after buying a Harley

He Guys

Like I said in the introduction this is my first Harley and I bought it last May, me and my Buddy have been riding all summer long and made most of our trips into belgium. We don't like riding in our own country for it seems that Holland is become more of a Gestapo country every day, you have to be looking out for every tree or whatever obstical you see if there isn't a cop behind it with a camoflaged lasergun trying to give you a ticket for speeding. To our good fortune we live about 20mls from the Belgian border and we just love the Belgian Ardenn so this is where we go, nice hills, lots of forest and good corners to take. Anyway we had a great summer with lots of good weather and I put about 5.500 mls on my Super Glide since the end of May, now you might think what the hell is this guy complaining about but winter is coming up and with a bit of luck we might get another month of riding and then it is all over untill April next year and I haven't got a clue what to do. I have been thinking about asking my wife for a bit more sex, just to keep me in the mood I have been in since May, because this is the only thing I can think of that comes close to riding a Harley but I am afraid that this will mean taking her out shopping soo much that it will clear my entire paycheck, now I'm planning on getting a Kuryakyn extended forward control, I'm 6.4, so this is not a good option to me, so I figured I'd better ask all off you long time Harley bikers how the hell you guys make it thrue a winter when the weather is too crappy to ride. Thinking about it already gets me in a big fat depression

It gets in the 20*s here, and I still ride. Warm ski mask under a helmet, heated grips, insulated ballistic pants and layers or warm clothing under a heavy lined, leather jacket. I could fall off a 4 story building and just bounce once or twice, but I get to ride. Most times, I go about 5-75 miles if the temps are in the 30's.

Once it snows.....then I get a little weird.

"I am afraid that this will mean taking her out shopping soo much that it will clear my entire paycheck..."

When you hear that owning a Harley costs a lot of money, it's things like this that add to the overall cost. I've been much more generous to my wife since I've got my bike.

This too is my first winter with having a bike and I'm holding off until the last minute before I put her to bed for the winter. I think you'll see my post count go up a lot over the winter since I'll be reading all the posts from the guys (and gals) where it's warm and looking for pictures!

Go down clean bike real good, change oil place dryer sheets on it.
When it's all set for the winter go down once a day sit on the bike and make funny engine noise's you'll be OK.

record the sound of Your Harley as You are taking off and of it while riding.
WhenYou cant ride as suggested by Scol then sit on the bike, close Your eyes and listen to the recording,That will keep You from getting sore lips from making the Harley noises.
