apes on stock cables

I was thinking of getting apes on my 09 Low Rider. How high can I go before needing new cables? any pics would help

probably not to high...gunna need risers? I would think no more than 8" that might even start getting tight!

Not much. HD cut back on wiring and brake hose length. You used to be able to hand WG bars on a Dyna SG, but not any more.

I agree with Dave and Jbone. I put 4" curved risers on my super glide with stock bars and cables and that pretty much maxed out the length. I believe that the LR already has pull back risers on it, so if the cables lengths are the same on the two bikes, you would already probably be at your max lenght. If you put SG risers which are shorter on your LR you may be able to go with 8" apes, but that's a big maybe. The width of the bars would play a factor in that as well. Paughco 6" Z bars may fit on the factory risers, if not look into the SG risers.

Keep us posted, I still plan on doing apes myself, just did the risers on my SG for a little more comfortable riding position.

thanks guys, I am heading to the dealer this weekend to play around with a few ideas. I will let you know how it turns out
