Brake reservior leaks

Have a couple of buddies, one with a 06 Softail Deuce and the other with a 08 SGC, they have experienced leakage from thier foward brake reservior seals---was wondering if this seems to be an ongoing problem with anyone else. Just have my 1k serviceing and will be checking the torque on everything just to be sure.

Comes from being overtight . Also the dot 4 trashes the finish on the cover .

Seem pretty common. I don't know if there is a better gasket available. When you stand the bike up the resevoir sits at an angle with the fluid on the gasket.

dyna controls are the same as V-ROD controls on a 2006 . it dosen't matter how tight you get the screws or how much fluid you put in the resovior. what i do know is the seals suck. its been 3 years and 4 SETS OF SEALS AND CAPS! and the warranty is up and they said " IT'S YOURS NOW" i'll fax you what they sent me. anyway it won't get no better and get used to fixin' it from now on or sell it. 10-4! thats a little harsh but i don't sugarcoat anything.

Mine leak as well. I wonder if some heavy duty silicone would work for this problem?

I just sand mine down and repaint it. The fluid will eventually damage the paint again, I guess I'll paint it some more. For the price of a replacement oe one you can also get a chrome one from the dealer, around $40.00, and the chrome is not harmed by the fluid. I don't have allot of chrome so I use flat black in a rattle can with some masking tape and paint it on the bike.
