98 FXD - 5 degree rake ?

98 currently has a stock 28* rake, from what i understand the later models have 32* necks. Any pics out there of a 90's Dyna with a 5*-6* rake?

A 5 degree rake would be outrageously difficult to ride I would think. Speedway bikes have a steep rake but on the street it seems that would be seriously twitchy and not very stable.

Sometimes its better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

upper right (Firefox)

That, and the most recent is over 2yrs old and packed full of debbie-downers voicing their opinion that they wouldn't do it. No reason, no science, just hot air.
Besides that, no mention of early-vs-late stock rake angles etc etc etc as my OP asked.

How so? It's only 1* more than the later models(?) Also, keep in mind i want to rake the neck, not that raked tree mess

If I'm understanding you, you are interested in adding 5 to 6 more degrees to your 28 degree frame? My '92 FXD has 32 degree neck, it is very stable underway, but just a tad "floppy" at very slow speeds. For a while, I had 1" shorter shocks in the rear, and it affected the slow speed even slightly more. It was in no way difficult slow, I even won a slow race one time (lost more though). Here's a side view photo if it will help. Note: a photo taken just a few inches off center changes the perceived rake quite a bit.

Thanks for the input, bike looks nice, always liked the Black+Silver/Argent/etc. My 98 also has forwards but I'm used to the mids on my Sportster. I'm 5'6 and have thought about converting to mids on this Dyna.
Also have a dual-disc setup from a 98 1200C Sportster set aside for it, they look good on yours, how do you like them?
