Success with price haggling the dealer?

I got my 2012 Wide Glide back in June list price was like $15,449 if i remember correctly I was at the dealer told them I seen the price online on listed at 14,500 and that i wanted the bike but wasn't payer a dollar over that price so they were willing to meet that! Not sure if i would call that haggling or if i really even saved a dollar but, I was happy with it! Although I am sure the minute I drove it off the lot im sure it dropped another 1k in value! LOL

Well I don't know if I did good or not I bought my new 2012 Road Glide in September out the door for 18,500.00 it had 43 miles on it 21 put on by yours truly.

I couldn't find any dealers that wanted to go below MSRP so bit on the first one I did.

I never seem to have much trouble with cars, trucks or used motorcycles, but around here MSRP is about all you are going to get.

I had a talk with a salesman that the dealer I mentioned earlier about pricing contracts and was told that what Wrgiacona stated above is correct.

A dealer can price new bikes at any figure they desire, and can post those prices on the bikes on the floor. What they cannot do is place advertisements in any outside public media below MSRP. What ever they do within the walls of the store is their business.

Maintaining retail pricing when selling a bike ensures the "top shelf" status of the item and helps keep used pricing at a premium with less depreciation over time...

I didn't see much of "Good Deals" or "Getting a dealer to come down on pricing" except maybe a sportster. I'm buying my HD-1 bike build Street Bob from the dealership for the same amount that it came from Harley for.

Good success haggling with Victory Dealers with the left over 12's but am sure no on ewants to hear that anyway .. But a 21k Bike for 18 K
