I left the f**king ignition on
After 20 hours, yeah the battery was as dead as it could get. 3 weeks old and I have to get a charger and hope it works. Bummer. Guess I learned to lock it every time even when it's in the garage, someone's home, and a 100lb dog that barks at any noise outside.
The user manual that came with the bike wasn't much help. The directions for removing the seat made no sense. It talked about screws, bolts, and braces. All I had to do was remove a screw at the rear of the seat and pull it out from under the tank. ? Maybe putting it back together will be more difficult.

i got one of those small 1.5 volt trickle chargers for motocycles . It's great , you can hook up the pig tails to the battery and just plug in when you want to. I'm running an AGM battery on my 1200 sportster and left the ignition on the other day . Totally drained it. Put the charger on overnight and right back up to full charge and no problems with battery.

Back in the days of points and coils , if ya left the key on and the points were closed , ya melted the coil.

No big deal, just charge it. Live and learn. I would save the F*** word for when/if you drop it.
I always walk around my bike when I get off, looking for the unusual and check tires for cuts, nails etc. I would spot the head light being on. Also it would be obvius to me if I walked away from my bike and still heard Free Bird playing

I did it twice before I stopped using the kill switch. Had to jump it both times a a 10 minute ride home charged it back up.

I got the charger from the dealer, already plumbed for my WG. It's a Beltran Battery Tender. This device is not a trickle charger, you can leave it hooked up and it will not cook your battery.
