That's from dropping a screwdriver while taking the headlight apart. I know!

Haha!! Got one just like it...

Bought my bike used and when it showed up on the trailer, two things happened.

First, I walked up and noticed a big metal bolt-looking thing under the bike. WTF??? It turned out to be the stop thingy for the kickstand. The bolt holding it on came loose and is likely still on the side of the highway somewhere between Houston and Hixon, Tennessee. Easy fix.

The second thing that happened was worse. I hopped on the bike on the trailer and promptly dropped that metal piece on the tank. Yupp... Chipped the custom paint job. Nice. At least it's a tiny chip. Not a big deal. All I could do was just shake my head.

Back in the early 80's. I let a man that was passing through town talk me into trading him a head light for his motorcycle in return for his woman. It did not take long to realize that was not a good trade. She was a lot more trouble than she was worth. So I gave her to a buddy of mine and let him deal with her.

All right, time for this story...

I was riding around Leakey, TX about four years ago and decided to take a small two lane that followed the Frio river for a few miles. At one point there's a low water crossing with the river running over the road. I stop, evaluate the situation, and decided to plug along trying to stay to the center of the road. Moving along in first, getting a bit damp, but okay. As the road starts to climb up I give it what I thought was enough gas to keep from stalling. What I failed to take into account was that the center of the road is where the moss grows undisturbed. Also failed to understand how slippery that stuff is. Before I can even think "oops" the rear comes around on me and I go sliding off into the river. Couple of kayakers saw the whole thing, and once they finished laughing their asses off they helped me fish the bike out and offer some bandaids for my booboos. Bike started right up, and I rode it 60 miles back home....

It may be that the only purpose for your life is to serve as a warning to others.

I had the same thing happen once on my right shoe. My shoe lace got wrapped around the foot peg when I went to use the brake.
At first I couldn't figure out what was wrong, but as I was coming to a stop I thought it would be a good idea to put my foot down. Only trouble was that the shoe lace was shorter than the distance to the ground. It took me a few seconds to get my lace unhooked from the peg, and then to get me and the bike off of the parked car. Thankfully there was no damage to me, the bike, or the car.

I now tuck my laces into my boots.

Okay, here's mine...

I had my 2011 Ultra Limited about a week. I was working from home on a Wednesday and went out to my garage to admire the bike. I really can't remember why, but I was sitting on it and rolled it back out of the garage, then back in. I apparently didn't have the jiffy stand all the way down and when I set it down, it went all the way over.

I was grateful it was in my garage, not in my driveway where anyone could see me. I tried to reach my son, who lived a few miles away but couldn't reach him. I closed the garage door and waited for my wife to come home from work. I could have lifted it myself, but I was worried that since it was down on the stand side, I'd just flip it over on its right side. So she came home, and after she stopped laughing, she kept the bike from going over to the right while I lifted.

Luckily, there was no damage to the bike, only my ego.
