TSSM to TSM

Hey all has anybody ever swapped a TSSM to a TSM? I would like pick up a regular TSM and have it with me since I've had some very frustrating experiences with my security system on my 06 Street Bob and was hoping to carry a regular TSM with me in case I get stuck again. Anybody have an idea if you can just swap them out?? Also can anyone confirm that the regular TSM for my 06 would be P/N-68921-01D.

You can't do that. If it would be that easy you'd hear of a lot of stolen Harleys !!! Even if you would carry a TSSM instead of a TSM with you the new TSSM has to be married to the ECM using the H-D Digital Tech computer.

Can you take a bike equiped with a TSSM, eliminate the alarm portion of it, and install a TSM module, replacing the TSSM module.

TSM Is a turn signal module. TSSM is a turn signal security module.

Agreed SCHMIDTYS I thought about that last night. So maybe I'll have to eliminate the alarm altogether and just use the plain ol TSM. There's got to be a way to install one without the trip to the dealer for the Digital Tech.

No.

That's the problem. The TSSM is married to the ECU. It has to be, or else anyone could just unhook it, replace it with another, and wa-la......YOUR bike is THEIR bike.

The marriage has to be disolved and then another unit can be placed, and either married to the ECU again, (TSSM) or a TSM can be installed.

If you had an ECU from another identical bike, and a plain TSM, then you could elimiate the dealer trip.

Not if you use your current ECU.
