1983 Sportster-controls

I just bought a 1983 1200 Sportster. The controls are forward and I'd like to move them back to stock. Is it possible to do this myself?

It shouldn't be difficult as long as you have all the right parts in hand. BTW, if your bike's an '83, unless your bike has had major motor mods, it's a 1000, not a 1200.
