If you meant to say that the tail light works but brake light doesn't, it is probably your brakelight switch. Now are you talking when you apply the front or rear brakes, I don't know what year they started doing it, but my 74 sportster doesn't have a front brakelight switch, so I can pull the lever all day and no brake light till I hit the rear brake

If the brake light works when the brakes are applied, then how can the light NOT illuminate??

On older bikes, try taking a wire with 2 clips on it, (alligator, nipple, etc) and run a separate ground to the light bezel, and try it.

You can have all the power in the world, but if the ground is bad, you'll get nothing...........
