2008 FLHX Won't start

I put new bars on my 08 FLHX. I put it all back together and it will not start now. I hit the starter the after I got it back together and it clicked like the starter was going to kick in. The starter switch is now dead and no response when I push the starter switch. I think it is my starter relay but I wanted to ask what everyone else thought.

Another problem I have is my left turn signal is on bright constantly. Bad ground?

The last problem I have is my brake light is illuminated like I am applying the brakes.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Your battery was low (starter clicking and signal not blinking). Now, it's dead.

Charge your battery and try it all again. Report back if anything still doesn't work. Make sure your kill switch is on "run."

Good luck.

You may have a pinched wire, and you probably broke your switch behind the front brake lever...

I have a battery tender on so I know that my battery is not dead. My kill switch is on Run. WHen I switch my ignition everything comes to life but I jit my start switch and nothing. It doesn't click or anything. As I said I hit it the first time and it clicked like my starter was going to engage and then nothing. Now every time I hit that start switch it doesn't do anything.

Second, how would I have broke my switch? I highly doubt that. This is an electrical issue that I haven't figured out yet.

Any other suggestions?

Brake light staying on is related to the front brake switch , either the tip of the switch got broken off or the housing clamps aren't butted up tight against each other .
I would take the right housing clamps apart and inspect for pinched wires in the harness .
If everything worked correctly before you took it apart and now things aren't working correctly then it's something you did during reassembly . Retrace your bar installation .

Agreed. Something came apart or didn't get hooked up if you're sure you didn't bust a switch. It's possible you had a partial connection that gave you enough for the click and then that connection failed altogether and now you get nothing. Keep us posted and good luck.

I still haven't got my flhx to start yet. Figured out my other two problems. Simple stuff on those. I am getting power everywhere on all of my wires from my switch housings. The place where I do not have any power is at my solenoid for my starter. There is a green wire that runs down to my starter to give it signal to start. I do not have any power though.

I have tried replacing my starter relay, and checked power everywhere else and I have power. I also tried running a jumper wire from the ground on my starter relay to the frame and still nothing when I hit my starter switch.

Any suggestions? TIA

Ncuster, did it run before you replaced the bars?

What were the fixes on the other two issues?

Are you testing the wires with the switch housings off the bars?

Connect a jumper wire from the battery positive terminal to the connector the green wire plugs into on the starter to see if the starter engages . The starter should crank the engine with the jumper wire . That will eliminate that circuit from being the problem .
The unplugged green wire should show 12v with the ignition on when the start button is pressed .
Have you tested the fuses rather than eyeballing them ???
Is the clutch interlock switch functioning ???
Check or replace the FOB batteries .
Keep us informed ...
