2007 Ultra Won't Start

Good Morning-My 2007 Ultra does everything like normal until you hit the start switch and then the starter does nothing. You can hear the starter relay clicking on and off and the battery seems to be fine. Did this to me several times yesterday and then all of sudden the starter would work. But after I parked it last night it has not hit a lick since I turned it off. Any ideas where to even start looking? I have checked for loose wires and the battery is good. Anybody got any ideas?

Here's a couple things you can check : At the starter you will find a green wire , unplug that and use a jumper wire from the battery pos terminal to that green wire plug on the starter. With the ignition on and the trans in neutral the engine should start . That eliminates the starter , ignition and engine from being the source of the problem . If you have custom grips then undo the two #27 torx screws from the front brake perch and look at the wires under it to see if they're pinched .

Hello SCHMIDTYS-I tried what you suggested and nothing happened. I then took the battery out and had it tested, everything was good. After installing it someone told me to tighten the bolts holding the starter. They said they have had problems with them backing off a little, thus no ground. I did this and it started right up several times. I guess will see if this takes care of the problem. We are leaving on Monday for a three day ride up to Harpers Ferry, WV, Antietam, Md and then to Gettysburg, Pa. I will hook the trailer up and fill the truck with gas, just in case someone needs to come get us. LOL.-Thanks
