Cruise Control Not Working

I have a 98 Ultra Classic. Cruise Control has stopped working. Have had no problems with it before and then riding yesterday and today it does not work. I have turned it on and off on the dash panel and flipped the thumb control several hundred times to attempt to set it. Do these things just go out? Fuse? Electrical Connection somewhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Here's something to check ... at the right side of the fork neck there are two throttle cables , the idle cable has a switch in it with two wires plugged to it . Make sure the switch is free and you can see it move when you roll the throttle closed . Wiggle the thing to give it some slack . The switch is the throttle roll off and it deactivates the cruise .
