Running signal lights
I installed a kit from harley to convert my back signal lights to red lens and allow them to operate as signal, brake and running lights. However, the running light operation is too bright and distracting. I heard you can cut a wire on the module and disable the running lamp portion. But no one knows which wire to cut. I would like to keep signal and brake portion just not the running lamps due to brightness. Has anyone done this or know what to do... Thanks

Not sure there's a "wire" as the module is what logically send power to the lamps for running lights.
Assuming that if there was just a "wire", there would have to be an 1157 bulb in the rear lamps, and there's only a single filiment, 1156.
The unit is what's responsible for applying the power to make the t/s a running lamp.
I could be wrong...

Thanks Dave, according to Harley Tech theres a wire that you can cut on the module connector to disable the running lights and still operate signals and brakes. But no one knows which wire to cut. I guess I could do like in hollywood and cut the blue wire and hope it doesn't blow up...

I'd start with the wire that can be fixed the easiest..... I thought you always cut the RED wire?

Sorry I missed you response Dave, thanks for the advice... I always remember that everyone started with the red wire and then at the last moment someone yelled NO cut the blue wire!

Just put a very thin layer of high stick electrical tape over the bulb's contact for the running lamp filiment. Keep in mind, though... at night, you won't have any running lamps.
Cheers,
NIck

Couldnt you just return the system back to stock configuration and just keep the red lenses on the turn signals to accomplish what you are wanting? Or am I misinterpreting what you are wanting to achieve?

He wouldn't have the turnsignals working as brake lights.
Rear lights are too bright? What's up with that? Distracting to whom?
I've spent $600 making my rear lights hurt your eyes if you're close up. ( So don't get too close! )
Don't mess with 'em. They can't possibly be too bright.
Being seen keeps you alive. Leave 'em alone. UNLESS
they make the transition less visible when brake lights go on. If so,
put a killer LED tail light so it will be much brighter,
the turnsignals won't look so bright,
