Heads Up 09 Street Glides
Some of you may remember the no-start problems I had, starting just (2) days after purchasing my 09 St. Glide, after (4) trips to the stealership and the bike spending roughly half of the 36 days I owned it in the service dept., they finally tracked down a loose grounding strap that is located under or behind the starter. They said that it will hopefully fix my issues of hitting the start button and nothing happening. Said the 09's are grounded in a different way/location due to the swing arm mods made between 08's & 09's. They would have never found it if not for changing out the starter. Said the grounding strap nut was very loose and strap did not have a good ground some of the times and therefore the radio and lights would work but did not have enough current to run the starter, and sometimes it did have a good ground and the bike would start. We shall see picking the bike up this morning all work was covered by the warrenty. Just wanted to give people a heads up.
