Engine cuts out

I was riding my 00 soft tail at 45 mph motor died it then resarted and did it again then finally it would only idle. It is carberated. I have replaced the petcock with an after market hi flo and capped the vacum line. It still stalled. It has been at a local shop for almost two weeks and they have replaced the battery and fixed a broken weld on the coil bracket and still it stalls. Now i am being told that they think it is the crank sensor. Is that the possible answer ?

Without doing the diagnostics myself, I can't say for sure. Yes, a bad crank sensor will mimic those kinds of symptoms.

Tech just called and said he rode it for 10 miles till it got real hot and stalled. Does that sound like possible crank sensor still ?
