Mixing oil with gas

I've always added a small amount of oil to the fuel for some top cyl lubrication. I've never done it on a bike with FI. Does anyone think this might be a problem for the o2 sensors or should I not worry about it?

Gasoline is made from oil. Marvel Mystery Oil is mostly mineral spirits, and I run that in my truck (oil/gas) religiously. Can't see it hurting the O2 sensors....

Any lubricating oil contamination of gasoline reduces it's octane rating dramatically.

Straight motor oil will run in fine a diesel, happy to ignite w/o any spark.

Adding oil to premium gas turns it into VERY cheap gas,

lower octane rating than anything you can buy in the US.

Marvel oil has a significant amount of Naphtha which is an octane booster.

If somebody gave me a drum of premium gas that had a cupful of oil added,

I would not run it in my bikes or performance cars.

Funny how much people cuss about alcohol being added to gas, but cannot resist

trying to think of something/anything else to add.

So what your saying is that by adding oil the gasoline will ignite easier? That is what a lower octane rating will do. I don't see that as a reasonable outcome since oil is not as volatile as gasoline. I didn't think obout any change in octane rating but if anything it only makes sense that the oil would make it less likely to ignite (higher octane rating.)

Neither is diesel fuel.

You can drop a match into a bucket of diesel and it will get snuffed out.

Volatile must not equate to spontaneous ignition.

That takes a high Cetane rating. But you do whatever you want.

I do know for a fact certain that heavy motor oil will run great in a diesel engine.

As the fuel. No spark. Spontaneous ignition. Runs a good bit better

than pump diesel, in fact. At least the first 400 gallons has.

..And guys running supercharged and turbocharged hi performance cars

go to a lot of trouble to prevent crankcase oil vapors from recycling thru the engine

to prevent catastrophic knock.

Seems to me youd just be killin octane, use Seafoam and have the best of both worlds high octane and upper end lubercation.
