I heard they'll make it possible to reduce your idle RPM in a safer way. I'm at 850 with no problems and I have one of these. At 850 with the paper filter, I was "hearing things." But don't quote me on it. Just my bike.

Not for me, thanks.
Just my feeling, there's no way it can both pass more oil as freely and filter out the same size particles.

got one from scotts a year ago, they promise full filtration at 5 microns, and claim the filter will move 1 gallon per minute of 90w oil at 1psi.....so far the dang thing has kept the motor sqeeky clean inside....(had it down twice for previous owner repairs) and they also claim it wont bypass at cold start either...

the filter media is micro fine stainless mesh, about 5 layers thick...its the same stuff they use to filter blood in the medical field....if it's good enough for the kidneys, it good enough for the sporty....g

I personally don't see how a filter, Any filter, can last a lifetime. Its job is to stop particulates from getting into your system. Eventually it will clog. It has to otherwise where is the filtered crap going?

Not for me thanks. but I will have another brew!

you take it apart and clean it with every oil change, then throw it back on....i use a can of carb cleaner, and when done, its spotless...g
