Shooting fire??

Soo lately since its gotten colder out my bikes running odd..I Noticed it today especially..My rear cylinder was running rough..I pulled the plug and it was black..I replaced it and started the bike up..I noticed the rear pipe was shooting flames..I tried to adjust the carb(s&s Super E) Any suggestions ?

Sounds like you are to rich if you are getting a black plug. Check jets and how to set up that carb. S&S Cycle - Performance Parts for American V-Twins and they have a tech section with instructions with how to set that carb up

I have had the carb on the bike since like may.. this is the first time ive had this issue.. If i turn the mix screw back enough u can hear it pop b/c its too lean. When i start to enrichen the mix is when i run into the issues ..

fuel air mix screw, start at 1 1/2 turns out, turn clockwise until you hear it choke then go back to start position, do the same going counter clockwise also, then split the difference and that should get you real close.

my ironhead sporty does the same thing, but always......and from both pipes
carb is a little rich and timing is a little slow is what I always figured.....
but it runs like Obama chasin a watermelon truck so I keep it set just like it is

Ok so I started tinkering around with stuff..I changed the plug out and it helped a little bit..Yesterday i ran into some major issues it would fire up high acceleration then die.. I found the rear cylinders "rubber band" gasket was cracked in the middle. What a stupid ass design on their part. Anyway I fixed that after having to completely remove the carb and put it back on.. I Got her running again now my issue is decel and idle i get a nasty popping sound only from the rear cylinder..and i tried to change the plug again when i did that i get fire balls ..Any suggestions?

Make sure the intake sealed on both sides then got to the S&S web site and tune your carb like said.Also check your manual and make sure your valves are adjusted Properly.
You can Print their info on carbs right off their site.
